Abstract

Adopting theoretical approaches such as Piore´s labour market stratification or the decent work paradigm presented by International Labour Organization (ILO), this work stresses the importance attached to the idea that the labour market consists of a mixture of different work areas. These may be of higher or lower quality depending on the benefits and the development the employee can attain within the named areas. To such end, the work focuses on the construction of quality indexes of Argentine wage labour (1995-2015). It is proposed to begin examining the inequality analysis considering a dual classification of the quality level of wage labour, and taking into consideration the major institutional sectors, the public sector (PS) and the private sector (Prv S). The source of the data used is the Current Household Survey (CHS) from Argentina.

Key words: quality of working life, wage distribution, public-private labour markets.

JEL Classification: J31, J45, J81.
